Scholarships

The Macedog Scholarship honors the memory and beliefs of Macy Adam Meyer, who graduated from Ponderosa High School in 2003. The recipients represent and model several of Adam’s characteristics which made them eligible for this award. Some of Adam’s characteristics included: charm, wit, sensitivity, athleticism, intelligence, theatrics, sociable, and self motivation. He was a great leader in and out of school, including being senior class president in 2003. He was also the captain of his state championship wrestling team, and most importantly, Adam loved life and respected everyone he met.

In the eyes of many, Ponderosa High School is a better place today because Adam was present. The recipients of the Macedog Scholarships have made their marks at Ponderosa as well and it continues to be a better place because of them. It gives the Meyer Family great honor to recognize these very special people.

Kristi Trombly – 2009
Kristi is a 2009 graduate of Ponderosa High School. She is enrolled in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Northern Colorado. She is majoring in Graphic Design and Illustration. Kristi loves basketball, soccer, and volleyball. She also enjoys painting, drawing, and ceramics.

Stephone Kling – 2009
Stephone graduated from Ponderosa High School in May 2009. He currently attends Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. He will continue his wrestling career under a scholarship while in college as well.

Anika Severin – 2008
Anika graduated from Ponderosa High School in May 2008. She is attending Seattle Pacific University and pursuing the nursing field. As a life long dancer, she enjoys dancing in college as well.

Jake Ottmann – 2008
Jake was a 2008 graduate from Ponderosa High School. He is attending the Colorado Mountain College. He has not yet declared his major. Jake is an artist and loves to draw and work with stencils.

Becky Neuman – 2008
Becky graduated from Ponderosa High School in May 2008. She is attending Colorado University in Boulder with a double major of business and journalism. She was the editor of the Mustang Express at Ponderosa High School.

Nick Zeman – 2007
After graduating from Ponderosa High School in May 2007, Nick has been attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins. His major is Health and Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Medicine. He says that God is calling him into ministry. Whether it will be his vocation or his passion or both, he is finding himself called to serve Him in ministry to others.

Cait Hartman – 2007
Cait is attending Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois and working toward a business major while playing soccer at AU. She is a Ponderosa graduate with the class of 2007.

Sydney Specht – 2006
Sydney is a 2006 graduate of Ponderosa High School. She is attending the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and is interested in teaching High School English and Physical Education.

Dan Ambrosio – 2006
Dan graduated from Ponderosa High School in May 2006. He is currently attending the University of Colorado at Boulder and majoring in aerospace engineering with a minor in computer science.

Tom Fogerty – 2005
Tom was the first recipient of the Macedog Scholarship as a graduate from PHS in May 2005. He graduated from the University of Dallas in May 2009.
